Gunnison meat processing?

We are going to hunt elk 2nd season and deer 3rd season in Gunnison this year. This is the first time hunting Colorado for us. Does anybody have any recommendations for meat processing in that area? Thanks

When I hunted Gunnison a few years ago there was no good options for meat processing locally. I ended up boning it out myself, putting it on dry ice and heading home.

I am sure that they do great job. I actually checked with them on my hunt but was told 3 days. My circumstances did not allow me to wait that long before heading home.

Thanks for info DanMan...I will be there for 24 days. I hope that's not an issue :)

I wouldn't use Guerrieri Game Processing if my life depended on it. I don't even know how or why they are still in business the way they treat customers. It's very obvious they hate their business and can't stand their customers. You would be way better off icing your kill and having it processed locally where you live after you get back home than those folks.

Thanks for the info. Did you have some meat processed by them and have a bad experience or did you hear this from someone else?

I want to stand up for Guerrieri Game Processing. My buddies and myself have been using them for many years with good results. They have done our elk, deer, antelope, and sheep. My experience has always been positive. I have found them to be honest ( you get all your meat back ), professional, helpful, and friendly. We have also had Shane do several of our mounts. He even let my friend pick up a mount for me and mail him a check later. He trusted me and I trust him. I would not use anyone else in the region.

Used Guerrieri’s a few years back and it was a good experience. Cuts were wrapped in plastic then in paper. They were accommodating even as 4th season was coming to an end. I would use them again.

Thanks, that's why I thought I would give a chance to explain the bad experience. Sometimes people post but it's just what they hear. Anyway thank you all for the feedback.

I'm not in the habit of forming opinions about people from hearsay. I am a former customer - one and done. The man asked for recommendations - I gave my opinion from personal observation.

Lawrence, thank you for your opinion and for clearing that up. Some people do post opinions from hearsay and just wanted to be sure. I want to hear the good and the bad.

I live in gunnison, typically do my own meat because I’m a picky sucker when it comes to my meat. I’ve used Guerrieri’s a few times when life was busy and I just didn’t have time. They do a great job IMO. With my kids now hunting and work being crazy busy we had them do 3 or 4 for us last year, all good. He’s done a couple kick butt mounts for me too
