Any recommendations on a compact screwdriver set with an assortment of tips. I know these start at $14 for a Wheeler up to $50 for a Brownell.

Choice will depend on how many different guns you intend to use them on. I have the set from Brownells due to a larger assortment of tips to cover more firearms. Some of the higher priced double barrel shotguns have very fine slots on the screws and the average tip will not fit them.

Also you will be surprised how many hardware stores carry the tips if you need to replace one or add to the ones you have.

I have this one from wheeler and like it.I also have brownells fixed handles in my most used sizes, and prefer them..but I have never broke a wheeler bit, so they turned out to be better than i thot they would.

I am just looking for a small set to carry on hunts with me, not really looking to do much gun work.

I had a Wheeler compact kit that I gave to a guide but the tips seemed pretty soft and and were rounding off and hadn't been used much.

Thanks for the comments.
