Hard to scout in this weather...

Got out yesterday. It was raining hard pretty much all day. One thing I try to do in a new area is hit it when it is wet. To see what the roads do, which’s one stay passable which ones are not etc.

So despite rain and wind I loaded up the blazer and went to explore...

No elk were spited but I found some good areas, also found that the River were very swollen and impassible... I am sure crossings will be better in the fall...

Learned it is probably a good idea to sharpen your truck axe more than once every 10 years lol... Trees were a lot more work then they should have been...

Don't see many folks with a pulaski in their truck, we carry one also but always have a chainsaw for the FS roads.

I worked fire and trail crew for the Forrest service for a few years. The versatility is nice to have. I use them all the time. Great for pulling wall tent stakes, moving rocks etc. sadly mine has been neglected for wood cutting duty it is better now.
