Even though I've spent a good part of my life in those countries that eat it, I've never had it myself. But I actually wouldn't mind seeing the 2b herd thinned a little...

It appears that there should be quite a few horses eliminated in 2b. I would bet that we saw at least 50 during our 5 day hunt last month just in the few square miles we hunted up in the northeast corner of the forest! Here is just one of the smaller bunches we saw during the hunt.

Man same thing on the Navajo Rez. Had an elk tag in Sept. Saw 50+ horses and only 2 elk!

We had a Horse meat market right across from the DQ when I was growing up.

Think G&F would issue tags kinda like the NFS Christmas tree permits...where you could choose to "take" your game in a cooler OR standing in a trailer?

I concur: they are feral animals and at minimum should be managed, if not eliminated. Same with burros in Arizona, and horses throughout the west.

I'd eat one in a heartbeat.
