Well boys the draws are all but over, where are you going this fall. I will start it out.

September muzzy elk in Colorado
October deer for my kids in eastern Oregon and I might try blacktails for a change
Wyoming deer in October
Montana deer in November
South Dakota whitetails in November
Colorado 3rd season deer in November

Where are you guys headed this year,

Rich

Montana moose end of September first of October, the season goes till end November and I’m in no rush
If I get moose down before Oregon mule deer season is over I’ll hunt a friends ranch by Huntington Oregon.
otc elk hunt , near home , central idaho. I’m just going to hunt them, not going to kill one . Some of you will understand that. (how much meat can we eat in one year?)
Idaho otc deer haven’t decided , mule or whitetail.
mostly leaving my fall open to concentrate on moose ?

So far I’ve done Mule deer in Mexico in January and bear in Montana in May. Coming up I have:

Muzzleloader bull elk, cow elk, and buck deer in Utah.

Rifle deer in Colorado.

Possibly an Idaho elk hunt.

Possibly a bear hunt in Colorado.

Whitetail hunt in Montana.

Possibly Mexico again in December.

-Dedicated general deer in Utah, August-november
-Three season elk in Utah. August- December
-Archery elk in Arizona September
-Still a possibility for a Colorado deer hunt but not likely.
- Utah cow elk January
-predator hunting October- March

These are all the tags that I have but I’ll be helping out friends and family on quite a few other hunts.

-Utah General archery deer and elk August and September
-Utah Bison October
-(Possibly) Colorado Elk November

Nevada, muzzleloader for muleys.
Utah, muzzleloader for muleys.
Colorado, muzzleloader for muleys.
Alberta, rifle for whitetail and muleys. (If the borders open)
Kansas, muzzleloader for muleys.

Already completed in 2021.
April Texas hog hunt.
May Idaho bear hunt.

Fall hunts 2021.
September-October - Utah archery deer with sons fiance.
September - Utah muzzy deer with 3 sons.
October- Wyoming 100 elk with son.
November- Utah muzzy elk with 3 sons.
November- Colorado 3rd season deer with wife.
Predators anytime I get opportunity.

Az strip deer, Ut limited entry rifle elk, Yukon moose, caribou, Rocky Mountain sheep in Nevada, Kansas whitetail, Wyoming deer and elk, Colorado deer, New Mexico elk, Bison in Az. Marco Polo sheep

I wish

Utah general season archery deer for me, what a score...

Yep ..... another member of the no where crowd ! I didn’t draw , the kids didn’t draw , and my friends didn’t draw ! Apparently Wyoming hates us this year , not even on second or third choice. I’m not quite old enough to know about the good ol days but I sure know I never had points to draw a tag on the eastern side of the state in the last 27 years , but I guess things have changed !

2 deer tags calif. 10 day caribou in sept. muzzy elk 10 days oct. 3rd season deer colo. 14 days nov. ariz. crane tags 3 days dec. 10 day waterfowl in jan.

Wyo antelope, deer x 2 (type 3 whitetail and general) cow elk x2. Plus a general elk if I want. Wife has 2 tags too. (Cow and whitetail).

3rd season CO deer.

California Blacktail
Arizona Archery Elk
Colorado Deer and Elk
Really thought I would draw a couple more but I guess they will have to wait till next year.

Sort of a blah season here.

WY:

I have 3 pronghorn tags, probably have 6 by the end of the week at least 4 of them are headed for the trash can.

General deer plus an additional whitetail buck tag.

General elk and 2 cow tags.

I also have a group of NR friends from MT, ND, and AZ coming for elk they have 3 bull tags and 4 cow tags between them.

My nephew drew an awesome late bull tag as well.

Have another good NR friend coming for general elk.

My Dad drew an awesome NR pronghorn tag.

My wife drew an awesome R pronghorn tag.

MT:

General deer and will hunt with my Dad, Brother, and 2 Nephews in November. General elk for my Dad, Brother, and 2 nephews.

I could buy an OTC NR elk tag too, but won't.

Illinois:

Deer buck and doe tags hunting on a friends place.

AZ:

Either my wife or I snagged a random deer tag in a great area...will know when the draws come out. May donate that tag to Hunt of a Lifetime or some other group since AZ has been really generous to us in the drawing department the last 20 years or so.

Will apply or javelina in a party app later this year.

Pretty ho-hum this year, but enough to keep busy.

Utah OTC archery elk - August
Alaska caribou - September
Utah LE deer - October
And my daughter drew a Utah LE pronghorn tag - September

For me I have hunts in
August- Doe antelope in UT
October- Whitetail buck in OK
November/December- Buck deer either muley or coues in AZ. My CC got hit but I have no idea what I drew yet.
December-Whitetail hunt in MS

Im super happy to have a few hunts lined up this year.

Idaho archery antelope August
Idaho archery elk September
Idaho general elk October
Montana deer November

Still have a chance at Montana speedgoat and Wyoming 2nd chance speedgoat. Plus the family has plenty of tags to help with

I didn't draw a single tag this year. Very disappointing because I thought two tags were guarantees and thought I would pick up one or two surprises. I applied in AZ, NM, CO, WY, UT, NV and Idaho. The positive side is that 2022, 2023 and 2024 should be good years for me to draw multiple tags every year.
For 2021 I currently have
Arizona OTC archery in August and December.
Idaho OTC archery in September with possible rifle in October
Colorado 2nd season tag I paid a landowner a voucher for.

Wow! Busy year.??

Pulled a NR West River tag muledeer/whitetail in SD. It was a last minute app since I'd blanked everywhere else. If figured correctly I had less than a 1% chance to pull it.

Oregon blacktail deer general season

Idaho late season muzzleloader mule deer

Wyoming Region G mule deer

Not too much this year, but i plan on spending a lot of time trying to take a good blacktail. It’s been a few years since I hunted blacktail hard, and it feels pretty good hunting something around home where I have local knowledge and can scout and hunt my ass off. The Idaho tag is in a sub par unit. Region G is my 21 year old son’s tag, and we will go as hard as we can and see what happens. I may get over there and hike in for a few days to scout in August. I have not been in there before but do know a local or two and have studied the unit a lot. My son is not near as motivated as me, but we will see what happens. If it go’s well, I may burn my points on G in a year or two.

Oh yeah, my Dad also pulled a mid to late October Nevada mule deer tag that I will help him on.

August- long rage rifle antelope doe
September- long range muzzy deer
October- long range rifle bucks deer
November- longer ranged whitefail doe
December- longest ranged archery bighorn sheep

Montana archery elk September and October.

Colorado OTC bull 2nd or 3rd season depending on when I hunt deer.

Colorado mule deer, either leftover archery or 3rd season voucher.

Colorado 4th season cow elk.

Maybe Arizona OTC archery deer.

Waterfowl, upland and predators as time allows.

Idaho Archery Antelope August
Idaho Archery Elk September
Daughters Bighorn Sheep Hunt Sept - Early Oct.
Idaho Deer Hunt October
Nevada Deer Hunt October- Early November
Daughters Arizona Elk Hunt - November
Arizona Coues Rifle Deer Early December

Buck tags in MT, ND, WY, ID
MT elk A and B tags
MT bighorn (unlimited)
MT antelope (probably)
Wolf and bear tags as incidentals
Waterfowl hunt cold bay Alaska

Dad AZ archery antelope
Utah gen. Archery deer
Region G deer
NM Coues deer
Co 3rd season deer
Wife NM Barbary sheep

Wow! Hope everyone has enough bullets for there hunts. I drew Nevada 1st rifle in the Ruby's deer. Struck out on the other 10 draws.

One of the reasons that I started this thread was to see with all the uncertainties in the draws this year, if the guys that do their research would be affected and not have many tags. It looks to me that the die hards have done just fine and weathered the uncertainty and point creep just fine. Well done fellas.

Thank you Rich

Worst drawing year of my life. Must not be one of Rich's die hards. I applied for multiple species in 5 nonresident states. Drew nothing. Zero. Applied for everything in Wyoming (home) and drew a good antelope license and 2 cow elk. Plus I got a whitetail license in the leftover draw.

I do hope to spend quite a bit of time chasing mule deer though. I'll archery hunt Sept 1, then likely go to Western WY for the opener there on September 15. And if that doesn't work, maybe Oct rifle near home or the Nov season in the Black Hills.

I may also go to Nebraska in December for a muzz or archery hunt. Not great quality, but at least it is a fun late-season adventure. I may also get more serious about chasing a lion in December as well.

All Colorado tags
OTC archery elk
Private land only Archery deer
Eastern Colorado pronghorn buck rifle
4th season cow tag
Fall turkey

Rifle antelope/Colorado/wife & son
2nd season deer/Colorado/Daughter in law
3rd season deer/Colorado/Son & I
4th season cow/Colorado/ Daughter in law and I
Antelope/Wyoming/Son, Daughter in law, hunting buddy, and me :)
Couple of 1st time hunts for my daughter-in laws with my boys anticipating pops to show them the ropes. God help them ladies. It's fun watching them fit a rifle for the wives getting them prepared LOL. The 4th season cow is happening over Thanksgiving. This is a large hunting camp and we'll be doing Thanksgiving on the mountain with all the other families this year. A break from normal tradition. Will be a wonderful fall with all tags being in solid units and the family time.

No wonder it's so hard to draw a tag....everyone has to have 27 tags each.
? There is alot of guys that are lucky and have a handful of tags.

However, this will probably be one of my best years hunting with family and friends and the only tag I personally have or had is a spring Utah Turkey tag (Successful) and a Utah general season muzzleloader elk tag.

Texas hog was just drive there and hunt. No points or tag - Successful.
Idaho spring bear is just buy over the counter every year.

This fall - 3 sons have Utah general muzzy deer tags.
One son's fiance has Utah general archery tag.
One son has Wyoming Limited 100 Elk tag.
Wife has Colorado 3rd season 53 deer tag.
And my 3 sons and myself have the Utah general season muzzy elk tags and two of the son's have cow elk tags.

Some of my best hunts are without a personal tag and just hanging out and helping family and friends, enjoying the outdoors, great camp set ups and awesome food.

Great memories made is the number one priority. Best of luck to you and all the MM guys and gals.

Drew nothing this year despite 300+ points over 7 states. But it was semi-planned due to Covid furlough job. I just ain’t burning valuable PTO days until my regular job resumes. Which it will October 1st. That’s when I’ll get my life back. Next year will be a huge one for me. Will be burning preference points where I know I’ll draw on multiple hunts. For this year will get PTO $ reimbursed, and settle for two slammer archery deer draw hunts in Illinois. August vaccine should insure my IL deer season doesn’t get screwed again. Plus get a free Sept elk scouting trip, paid for due to Denver software training. Overall a great year if I had to pick one to not draw any Western tags. Good luck to all MMers on your 2021 adventures.
