How to put out a grass fire

A fire we had just east of here the other day. It was out before the fire crews even got dirty...lol

That's just wrong. Why didn't they let it grow so they could set up a command city and manage the fire for a couple of weeks??

It helps when the thing you’re making a line around grows to wherever you put the line! Retardant drops work really well on grass. We had one cooking a couple months ago that looked like it was going to take about a hundred homes or so. THey somehow got a bunch of planes to immediately divert from drops in Oregon, and just dead stoped most of the flamefront.
