LAST EDITED ON Sep-12-18 AT 10:46PM (MST)[p]I spent two days scouting and located some water holes along with quite a few goats here and there. The day before my hunt started i arrived at my #3 hole and was surprised to find quite a few bucks around so it quickly became my #1 hole. I got lucky and was able to kill my buck on 9/11. Day one I sat for 13 hours to have a group come to 101 yards. Long hot boring day lol. Day two more of the same and I dosed off, then woke up to a group in the hole at 40 yards. To my surprise I sprung into action and realized I forgot to put my release on!!! After composing myself I was able to draw and let one fly at 45 yards. Perfect shot and he fell over after 20 yards. Bucks are rutting hard and he was chasing and making scrapes! Hard work pays off on DIY public land hunting. Love this time of year!!!!
