Hey folks, a buddy inherited some old bolt guns. We’re attempting to ID or get any info we can on these 2 bolt guns.

One has writing in French with M16, thinking it may be a Berthier.

The other has no identification markings except “F702” stamped on the action.

I suck at identifying those. If you look up Forgotten Weapons on YouTube, you will see that guy, Ian, is really good at it. French rifles tend to be his favorite. Now I don’t know Ian, but he has a good reputation and if you can find his contact info or can find him on instagram or Twitter, I’m sure you can send him pics and ask him for help identifying those.

Hey Cap,

Just wanted to thank you again.

I emailed Ian and he got right back to us, and pointed us in the right direction!

If you ever have any questions regarding hunting in NM, feel free to give me a shout!
