Utah Division of Wildlife Resources conservation officers have recently investigated several cases involving large, trophy-sized deer and elk that were killed illegally across the state.

Seems to be getting better for the law breakers. Less opportunity for the honest equals less honest in the hills equals more dishonest folks in the hills not being monitored. More restrictions on the honest because of the dishonest equals free reign on the wildlife by the dishonest.

Almost 1300 animals recorded being killed illegally last year…that’s probably 1% of what’s really happening in this and other states.

Need more trail cameras to catch the perps. Oh wait can’t have them….

How will trail cameras help catch people who take too many fish? Fish are the lion share of illegally taken animals by a plurality.

Yeah, that 1300 number includes fishing violations.

I’m very much a proponent of strengthening penalties for convicted poachers. 9 total current cases statewide seems very low to me. We all know way more people than this are blatantly and willfully breaking the law and illegally killing animals.
