I have always worn the cheap, open country cotton pants from Cabelas. I wear a base layer under those to keep warm and that has worked fine for 32 years of hunting. Now that I'm 45 and I can spend some money (I finally got permission from the boss) , I researched Kuiu and talked to a lot of guys that wear them. I went on Kuiu.com and they were sold out of the size and camo pattern I wanted. Mind you, it was 2 months before hunting season. This is the only drawback I see with Kuiu....how do you not have a full stock of size 34 pants in your most popular camo?? Unbelievable to me but that's on them. A buddy of mine found some used ones for me and I ended up buying them from a guy in Maine. I wore them in Colorado during the 3rd season and they did amazing in the cold. I didn't need a base layer (it didn't get colder than 35 or so) but I never even thought about my legs being cold. The stretch they have is fantastic. I remember that I would have to pull my cotton pants up to get in a sitting position or to crouch down. Not in these attack pants. They are the most comfortable pants I've ever worn. I would highly recommend them. I will be buying a second pair as soon as Kuiu has them in stock. I checked last night and they still don't have the size and pattern I want....it's been 3 months. Again, UNBELIEVABLE!! Well worth the $125 for these pants.
