Late Season MT Bull

So after archery season was a bust due to having to fight forest fires I focused on rifle here in western Montana. Spent a week in the wall tent and was able to get my buddy on his first elk, a fat cow. After striking out myself I decided to try an area I've looked at for a while but had burned in a fire this summer. Packed the tepee in to 8k and endured a few scary high wind nights in the burned timber. Was lucky as hell to find this heavy 6x8 down in a deep, deep hole. Ran a couple hundred yards in deep snow to make a 450 yard shot, ten yard recovery. Fortunate to have friends who don't mind suffering in the mud, snow, wind, and cold to fill the freezer.
