If you think you have enough points to draw an lesser LE elk can u swing for the fences on 1st choice and still draw the second?

I Doubt there's hardly any LE 2nd choices ever Drawn but who knows?

Only if your second choice is Cache Medowville Archery on off years.....

The only way you draw your 2nd choice is if there are tags left over after everyone's first choice has been checked and less people applied for the area than the available number of tags.... So no you will not draw your 2nd choice, it is almost pointless to put a 2nd choice unless the unit sucks so bad that no one wants the tags

So, I've been wondering about this for general deer. I have usually just been putting in for archery because its a guaranteed tag every year, but since its guaranteed could I put in for a muzzy or rifle tag as first choice and draw the archery as a 2nd?

The unit I put in for doesn't have any leftover permits ever, but is that because people are drawing tags on 2nd, 3rd, 4th choices and so there aren't any leftover after all the choices are finished up? I feel like it would be really easy for the DWR to just publish how many people drew on 2nd, 3rd, etc. choices and clear the confusion.
