I'm interested to hear any first account opinions/experience with this binocular. I understand it is a bit heavy. Wondering if it can take the place of a spotting scope for back country hunting.

Thanks for your replies.

They are pretty nice binos. BUT..... They are BIG AF so in my opinion I don't think getting that extra 3-5x is worth how BIG they are! I would go with a 50mm spotter and a good set of 10s or 12s for backcountry. But that's just me. The Duovids run 2.69lbs where my 11x binos and 50mm spotter run 2.95lbs together and with that I get out to a 40x.

I've had two pair and loved them. I would still take a spotter if you want to zoom in and see detail at longer range.

I run the Kowa 50mm. I have ran the razor and Nikon ed50 in the past. For the price of the kowa I think it is just as good at least to my eyes and you get 20-40x where with the others you are only getting up to like 33x
