Leupold 12-40X60 Golden Ring Spotting Scope

I was wondering if anybody has used the Leupold 12-40X60 Golden Ring spotting scope and if so what they thought of it. I am looking for a high quality scope under $1000. It also has to be compact(without giving up too much optical quality), and the Leupold seems to be the smallest of the high end scopes. Also, if anybody does NOT recommend it, please speak up! Sometimes negative comments are much more helpful than positive ones. I need a scope that can judge trophy quality from long distances and don't ever want to regret buying the one I choose.

I used one last year, slightly blurry on the edges at long range but very clear in the middle. I think for the money they are hard to beat. Mine is going to go one ebay, because I am upgrading

I own one and love it. There is also a new version called a 12x40x60 arm HD(high definition) never peeked through one yet but if it is any better than mine it will be unbelievable. You won't go wrong with it thats for sure
