Lib's Priorities in need of help!!!

Today on this forum one of our in house libs posted, what he thought, was great news from our liberal Messiah on how they have advanced the welfare of us all by spending a paltry sum of 37 million dollars for wetlands grants.

This news was given out by Secretary Salazar and our on board lib made sure to let us know how we should be grateful for this great amount of funding. I as usual advised our on board lib that he should look at the big picture and make another assessment as to the priorities our President has concerning our well being and what is more important to us little peons.

While Secretary Salazar was making this announcement, Veterans Affairs Sec. Eric Shinseki was making another announcement concerning our veterans who have been wounded in combat.

Shinseki stated to CNN that the Obama adminstration was considering a controversial plan to make veterans pay for treatment of service related injuries with their own private insurance, instead of the military absorbing the cost as done in the past.

Stop and think about this, we give free medical services to anyone on welfare, including narcotic using deadbeats. We give free medical service to illegal alliens that walk into a hospital emergency room, but now Obama and his adminstration are wanting to tell our military veterans, tough luck, we can care less that you got your leg blown off while fighting for us. Have your own private medical insurance pay for your new artificial leg!!!

Sounds like the Obama adminstration is robbing Peter in order to pay Paul, and the amount they pay Paul is a drop in the bucket compared to what they want to take from Peter.

I really wonder if our on board libs feel the same as the Obama Adminstration does about our wounded veterans and feel that the Obama priorities are in line in the proper sequence. Which is giving out 37 million bucks for wetlands are more important then taking care of our wounded vets after we have asked them to put their lives on the line for our country.

Needless to say some Democrat congress members have sided with GOP members and have stated that this proposal by the Obama Admistration "is dead in the water" if sent to congress for the 2010 budget hearings,

Democrat Sen. Patty Murray even stated that she believed that veterans with service connected injuries have already paid by putting their lives on the line, and we should not nickel and dime them for their care.

I am willing to bet that Sec. Shinseki will be in the hot seat for letting this cat out of the bag. I wonder if our in house libs will scream as much as they did over the poor conditions that out vet hospitals were in under the Bush Admin. or will they just poo poo it away as nothing to be concerned about.
Makes me wonder about other priorities that the Obama adminstration may have out of the order they should be in!

This is the same thing Hillarycare had. They are after VA benefits first ~ they'll take them and pass them out to their illegal alien friends.

Next, government employee health insurance ~ they'll give that to their illegal alien friends.

After that everything retirees get, and so on.

It was all laid out by the Hildabeast so it's not at all surprising to find this acolyte of the Antichrist doing the same thing.

He hates anyone and anything that has to do with defending this country.

There are 500 articles out there on how Obama has made better health care for vets a priority, if I knew how to post them I would. why don't you get a few facts now and then, I'm sure it would spoil some of your fun but if you venture away from MM you'd look a little brighter in the real world.

Dude, could those 500 articles have been a smoke screen and this is the real way that his adminstration will be treating our vets if allowed to get away with it.
The veteran affairs sec. did state that the "Obama adminstration" is considering this proposal. I would think he would be in the inner circle to know what is going on.
Saying vet health care is a priority is one thing, what you are planning to really do is another thing!!!
Are you just trying to poo poo it or do you feel that this proposal is the right thing to do to our vets. OH! excuse me! I forgot you have also said that you have helped our vets on hunting trips. Forgive me for having any doubts about your feelings toward the safety and care of our veterans.

WASHINGTON, March 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The leader of the nation's largest veterans organization says he is "deeply disappointed and concerned" after a meeting with President Obama today to discuss a proposal to force private insurance companies to pay for the treatment of military veterans who have suffered service-connected disabilities and injuries. The Obama administration recently revealed a plan to require private insurance carriers to reimburse the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in such cases.

"It became apparent during our discussion today that the President intends to move forward with this unreasonable plan," said Commander David K. Rehbein of The American Legion. "He says he is looking to generate $540-million by this method, but refused to hear arguments about the moral and government-avowed obligations that would be compromised by it."

Not one of Hdude's 500

I guess this isn't one of the 500 articles Hdude is talking about. It does seem to come from one who has more knowledge about Obama's plan though!!

The record shows dems spend more money on vets than republicans, odds are vets will be better off when Obama is done than when he started. you may have to wait more than 2 months to see it.

I would like to see this record you are talking about.

The record shows that the Democrats cut government spending on troops and cut back on the military and their benifits the first chance they get. Look what happened to our military after Clinton got done with them.

The vets will be screwed by this administration and will have to pay for their own lubricant.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-16-09 AT 10:23PM (MST)[p]Veterans health care is socialized, 100%, the doctors, the hospitals, computerized health care records, all of it, and to you right wingers socialism is evil and a dirty word, and it also means its low quality, since you guys say private insurance based health care is far superior, why would this be a bad thing? Make up your minds! how could any right minded right winger think this is bad?

Unlike you Piper, there is some of us who do not mind taking up the cost of medical care for our vets since we helped send them in harms way to die for our country. The military taking care of it's own wounded has been a tradition in this country for many generations.
It is not considered socialism, as it was done before we even knew what true socialism is about.

It is very oblivious from your post where you stand, and I am ashamed of the fact you are considered an American. You are not deserving of it.

In the 60's it was guys like you and your attitude that was standing in line at airports and docks to spit on our soldiers as they returned home.

Thank you for showing your true colors, yellow is very fitting.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-16-09 AT 11:39PM (MST)[p]You know RELH it's a new year so I am going to try my very best to be civil and cordial. I understand your concern and I agree with your stance that military personnel should stay in charge of the medical needs for the armed services.

There are many "proposals" floating around as the government is desperately trying to find ways of adjusting the budget.

The problems at Walter Reed were directly related to the privatization for building maintenance that until the Bush Administration had traditionally been performed by military personnel.

This fell directly in the lap of Donald Rumsfeld and George Bush as a cost cutting measure. Yet I have no recollection of you being upset about that. I do not remember a single post of yours which expressed your deep concern over this matter. Or for that matter any criticism of the Bush Administrations actions. Perhaps you could refer me to the archives where you stated your deep concern about the incidences at Walter Reed.

What Rumsfeld and Bush did was no "proposal" as such our soldiers were in absolutely deplorable conditions with rats, roaches, and rooms infested with mold.

If a mere proposal is being ballyhooed in the halls congress that's one thing, but when George and Rummy actually acted on privatization for military personnel leaving are fine young men and women recovering in deplorable conditions...well that's another.

Now, with all due respect your apparent premature heated concern simply appears to be more Republican "Party over People."

Just as a reminder I do agree with you that the taxpayers should flip the bill and care in all forms should always remain with fellow soldiers. I just question the heated concern over a proposal under the Obama administration, and what happened under the Bush Administration.

Note: absence of slander, offensive inuendo, or graphic descriptions of head placement and or conditions of rectal blockage.

Try this link RELH, it'a a little long but it makes for a good read if this issue bothers you.

It's from the American Legion by the same Commander...note the date.

http://veterans.house.gov/Media/File/110/9-11-08/CommanderTestimony.pdf

Note the concerns of veterans in rural areas, the data theft in 2006, and the other pitfalls where the VA and DOD have dropped the ball leaving vets ill-informed of the very entitlements which they deserve. This is not an arguement for full privatization but it does point out that even the Commander of the American Legion acknowledges inherent flaws in the current system.

Yea and I guess general Shinseki is not worthy to be an American either? you rightwingers are amazing

Fwall;

Your ability to remember any my prior posts and not being critital of Bush is very lacking. Maybe you should invest some time in going back and re-reading all of them.
I will say it again, any of you libs that is for nickel and diming our vets for their onduty injuries is UN-AMERICAN and you are not fit to stand with other Americans in my OPINION!!!
