i cant comment on the sixes unit but i have hunted the Melrose unit quite a bit. it is mostly private farmland but there are some patches of BLM land available to hunt. These areas have deer but you will need to work for them. Some BLM areas you may want to try are Boomer Hill(hunted hard but still holds a lot of deer off the roads),Doe Creek(bout the same hunting pressure as Boomer Hill), Judd Creek(locked in by private land),Horse Prairie and there are a couple others places. Those listed are in the SW corner of the unit. Saw a real nice 4x4 w/ eyeguards during the late bow season last year and a nice 3pt as well. So for an extra tag it would be a good hunt if you are willing to work at it.
