Mid 180" buck

This is what a mid 180" mainframe buck looks like from my trail cam pictures. I'm sure there's a few out there that probably disagree on his size.

I'm not good at judging score, but if I had a tag, I'd put him in my truck so you could tape him!!

I'm terrible at judging muledeer but I'd say yes. Allow not terribly wide his front forks look huge and is very tall. I'd rather have this type of buck any day over a 30 inch wide buck with no mass. Great looking deer.

That's an exceptional buck nowadays. You seem pretty confident in the score. Were you able to ground check him?

From an official measurer's view, I would say maybe....

MB's are long but not real long and inside spread is not great.....

From a hunter's view I would agree....lol

With G4?s that long and good main beams, that buck is mid-180?s all day long and probably bigger.

Trailcam pics almost always under sell a buck or bull also.

I know I would shoot that buck without any hesitation whatsoever.

Seeing as he killed this buck about 3 weeks ago and already said it scored 198?, I'm going to take the over on it being mid 180?s. Awesome buck!

It actually gross scored 191.5 It had 6" of extras.
When it was first scored at 198", a metric or maybe one of those MM tapes was used. lol

Mid 180s all day....That deer looks closer to 190s to me.

Yep Ridge it's plenty big. Is this buck running around the same stomping grounds as your muzzy buck? If so I hope he's slightly bigger next year and you can get on him on the ground so we can see the actuals.

As a side note we've been looking hard for a bighorn sheep for my 15 year old son. There aren't many out there this year. We have seen one shooter but haven't turned him back up after the deer hunters went through.

Your correct about the main beams. Left: 18 4/8 & right: 21 5/8. Inside spread was 17 6/8.

After first seeing the pictures I guessed low 190?s and then reading the comments made me second guess my initial estimate. Glad to see my gut was right.... I've seen a few 185+ bucks that look very similar. Tine length trumps width and that buck has very long points all the way around. Great buck!! Post up some field photos!!

I think I'd have guessed right in that ballpark. He's got some long 4's and darn good back end. He's a big buck.

if you want to prove that theory put it on the ground do an official live taping (green) and post it with a truly mid 180's buck of that type and see what transpires. just saying speculation and proof is worth all the beans.

no dought that's a great buck and I would jerk the sh** out of the trigger on that one unless I knew there was something bigger and I knew where he was??????????????
