Mule deer cape

Shot a real nice 28" buck in Wyoming this Fall and wasn't able to cape it cuase I was sicker than a dog at the time and it was all I could do to get my draggin butt back to camp.

Where does one find a good/quality mule deer cape with out gettin hosed?

Was hoping to score in Idaho to get a cape but came up emety handed.

Where are you from? I would start with buddies, then go to any local taxidermists and talk to them. Most of them haven't sent the capes off to get tanned yet, so you could get a good look at the cape if you're going to buy one. I would look at the capes first before buying one. What time of the year did you shoot your buck? Did it have short hair or had it started it's winter coat?

Buddies came up short too or they were too small of bucks (capes). Buck was shot end of September.

I might be able to help you out. It wouldnt be tanned but I might be able to round up a full rut Montana muley if your still looking?

Ive got two northern montana full rut capes, they are not tanned.
