Possibly planning a private ground muley hunt. Any info on caliber & number of deer? Outfitter tells me I can (realistically) expect to find some bucks over 170, with a few bombers out to 200+. Private ground, landlocked public, adjoining alfalfa fields surrounded by some rimrock, timber, etc.

Unit 70 absolutely a 170 is very possible ON PRIVATE GROUND.

I never heard of any 200's taken in 70 but a 170-180 gross is absolutely possible depending on season.


Private land is key in that area if you have a lot of ground to hunt and the outfitter does not kill to many deer you should have a good hunt.

Public ground has a lot of hunting pressure.
