My Big Wyoming Buck

Just wanted to share my Wyoming buck from this year. It was a great hunt and I passed some big bucks trying for a world record. I killed this buck @ 509 yards while walking back to my truck heading home.
I didn't want to cause any drama of hunters fighting against each other about what a deer scores. so... I chose to cut off the rack so we can all just enjoy this beautiful deer.
Far too often we get caught up in score, width, mass. I feel the ethical thing to do is respect this creature for what he brings to the table. you should see his Hams!!!

I'm not a nice person. I'm an a$$hole. Just ask titty. Course titty's a moron. It's hard to take anything he says or does seriously.

So?

Were the first few Long Range Shots at the Buck 'High' and 'Forward'?:D

He looks to have a huge body. He must have been an old warrior. Congrats on filling the freezer.

Any truth to the rumor he was shot out of the truck and you were using open sights? That's what I heard from the warden.

Screw that--show the pic with his mass, width and all his glory! That thing is a fat-assed deer! Live weight guess???

Dyboot,
Great buck, man that thing looks to weigh 700 pounds:)
Congratulations on a successful hunt.

I know more about the real story than I should (and if not, I'll make something up).

He didn't "choose" to saw the antlers off, he shot them off accidentally with those damn Berger bullets because the range was too far for his skill-set!
I just thank God that he removed hit flat-brimmed hat for the MM pictures!

Zeke

PS: thanks boot for sending me a private photo with the antlers in all their glory.

Looks like you were checking out his head gear right when you pulled the trigger and shot him in the antlers lol!

C'mon man, post up the unedited version.

Finally! A post I can read and sleep well tonight!

Thanks Dryboot! Congratulations!

It's written in the good Book that we'll never be asked to take more than we can. Sounds like a good plan, so bring it on!

Feleno, the first shot was from the truck but I wasn't on the road. Luckily he only gave me an off road ticket and didn't worry about shooting him under the headlights.
Shotgun, my Utard posse consisted of the guy taking the picture and those you see in the picture. I know it's hard to count that high.

I would have hunted true DIY solo and used the self timer on the camera, but that's just me. If you can live with having help, who am I to judge?

I will admit I am strictly a SHOOTER and not a hunter. I figure my posse picture gave it away. Hell, I'm not much of a trigger puller as I shot both antlers off. Apparently my ethical shooting range is 0-60 yards with my 7RUM.

I am new to this forum and really don't like to throw my two cents in, but this post is just asking for it. First of all, why even start this post? If you don't want to cause any drama, then why state that you shot this deer at 509 yards, from the truck and then you hide the antlers of a probably wonderful buck. I just don't understand. Mature mule deer bucks are to be admired for there antler growth. Why didn't you just get a doe tag? They are to be admired when you kill them during a difficult stalk and a perfect shot! Are you really trying for a world record? Here is a suggestion, get a bow, get closer, and enjoy hunting not shooting!!

regards,
Dan

Hahaha.

You gotta know titty to understand his post.

To sum it up for ya.

Titty aka, one-dry boot who is the author of this thread is a world class douche nozzle.

Trust me. There's is nothing about his story that even resembles the truth. Ask him bout being face down a$$ up in the creek. He was assuming his favorite position.

Okay deadeye,

Here are a few tid bits of truth

1- this post is 100% just being a smart ass

2- I say I don't want to cause drama, then post a 509 yard shot. Yep that was the plan because I know a few people will go into seizures hearing the yardage. If it doesn't line up with their views 100%, it's wrong. If you don't like hearing 500 yards, pull up your skirt.

3- yes I own a bow and have killed plenty of animals with it. I do it all, rifle, muzz, archery. Some of my biggest animals are with bow but that doesn't make them any more special.

4- yes I fell face down ass up in the creek with my buck on my back.

4.5- I posted this thread being a smart ass because there are too many holier-than-thou D bags that think their way is the only way. Is 509 yards too far of a shot? Maybe for you. But I'm not going to let your shooting skills, or lack of, keep me from being successful. I don't care if you think 500 yards is unethical or just shooting and not hunting. I know my limitations and when I find the animal I want to take, I'm going to give him a dirt nap if I know i can make the shot. If I kill a 200" buck at 60 or 500 the satisfaction is the same.
Bottom line is this.... far to many members here have posted their story for all to enjoy, only to get blasted that they are full of crap on the score, or they are not a true hunter, call names, ect.

Now don't get me wrong. ... I'm all for being responsible. There are hunters that should never shoot 600 yards at an animal because they can't consistently make the shot, but they still take it. But there are also hunters that shouldn't shoot 150 yards. If you can't consistently make kill shots you shouldn't shoot and it doesn't matter if it's 50 yards or 500. Know your limitations. 200 yards is an unethical shot for some people.

In closing I'd like to say I really don't care. I don't care some think 500 yards is too far. I don't care if you think it's just shooting. I don't care what the holier-than-thou thinks. Because at the end of the day I hunt for me. I hunt because I enjoy being in the mountains. I am a very picky hunter and when I find the animal I want, I close in to a range I know he's dead. I Spent over 30 days in Wyoming this year between scouting and hunting. I passed many bucks and chose to kill this one towards the end. I did it for me because I enjoy it.
Love me or hate me I don't care. Call it hunting or shooting it doesn't matter. Red jacket, green jacket who gives a sh!t

I forgot to add the most important part. ...

Smitty is a flaming Homosexual and the movie Brokeback Mountain is based on a true story about him. True story!

Hell yeah it was. If you're gonna be in a gay porno you might as well be the star!

By the way I agree with titty.

You two agree?

Ought Oh!

I actually got a kick out of seeing this post! Nice to see a post with a little humor..especially after reading so many rude and abnoxious posts! The only question I have is did you photoshop your head onto someone elses monster 2 x 2 muley buck photo? Glad to see you likely photoshopped an orange hat on your head or the rage crew would have had something to criticize! Anyway you look at it your buck is a wallhanger with the roman nose and thick neck..congrats!

jims, it appears that he photoshopped the antlers off his buck to make his point for this thread. Kind of a half-ass job, but it seems to have fooled most guys here...lol. So he didn't fib when he typed "I chose to cut off the rack". Cut off digitally, not with a saw.

well after letting this post drag on for long enough, I decided to post the original picture. There were some good sports that replied and some that just didn't get it. some of the story was made up to ruffle feathers, some was true.
He isn't the big boy I had hoped for and I passed bigger earlier in the hunt. I killed him while walking back to my truck after being packed in for 3 days. I was ready to eat tag soup but I couldn't resist a big 4 by 3. For those that want something to argue about, He scores 170.

Its a gooood feeling getting a buck like that after almost throwing in the towel! Even if passing bigger earlier.

That's a sweet front end on that buck. Congrats.

yep, that's a better picture.
You sure had me fooled!
(because I already got a personal selfie from one_dry a while back)
It's been a fun threat. Thanks B
Zeke

You need to get one of those Road Kill T-shirt babes to be in your next harvest pic buddy!! haha

Ya done good for sure man

congrats

Robb

I like him. Good buck no matter if you screwed up and let that big get away, LOL At least you know where that big one will be next year.
