Hey I wanted to reach out on here my wife drew out archery le bull elk on La sals, it’s her first bull elk hunt so she’s not looking at knocking down any 400 incher any suggestions are appreciated

The hardest part in my opinion with new elk hunters is learning when to draw back. Lots of times they get locked up with an elk that close and don't know what to do. As a caller you can't be right behind her to tell her when. The first archery elk hunt with my wife I had someone calling for us and I was in her hip pocket helping. She ended up killing a nice 5x5 that I was more than happy with to start.

If you don't have a 3rd person, sitting water or a wallow could be a good way for you to help out in that regard. With my daughters, whenever we watch a hunting show I'm asking them when should they draw? Then they start to think about it.

Scouting is key. Go find wallows and other places where you can put up a tree stand or a ground blind. Then lots of practice shooting her bow.
