It's named the "Eagle Mountain Fire" and it near Spring Valley about 11 miles NW of Williams. It's still growing. Yesterday it was close to 4k acres. The cause is still unknown.

I hope it's a good type fire and Not a burn the hell out of the unit fire. All the units could use fire as a cleaning up of some area's the new growth is great for the wildlife.

"I have found if you go the extra mile it's Never crowded".

The brief teaser on the bottom of the screen caught my attention as we have elk tags in 6A...

Just do a search for the kaibab national forest and they have lots of updates on their website. Looks like it will be a mixed bag of severity with the hills getting the brunt of trees burnign up and most everything else burning like it needs to in order to bring in the fresh feed and make the animals happy. It will be the place tyo hunt this fall!

Sorry to you all, I made a mistake with the name of the fire north of Williams. It's called "Eagle Rock".

There's another one burning south of Flagstaff called the "Hardy" fire. The news claims that it was started from a campfire within city limits and currently it's at about 4 or 500 acres. My interpretation of that is that it was started by a bum or squater, same difference in my book. My Family's house came close to going up in smoke during the "Rodeo-Chediski" fire back in 2002. Both were man made fires. I HATE man caused forest fires. These people need to pay extremely for their stupidity!!!

That Schultz fire which is up to 9,000 acres is in the backyard of my parents cabin. As of last night, the fire was less then a mile north and south of their place. Who knows what its done by now. So far no reports of structures being taken out though. Makes me sick just thinking about it. A lot of memories made up there.

Smokey the Bear just may have something there huh? These cork suckers need to suffer.
