New trigger?

Hey guy's.

Looking for advice on a new trigger. I have a Ruger M77 in 7MM Rem Mag. It is about 15 years old. I have never liked the trigger on it but still shoot it well and am wondering, What would be a good trigger to swap it out with? I hear a lot about Timney. Are there better or equal for the same money? Is this something I can do with out too much trouble? What do you guy's think?

While I don't have a M77, I do have a few Timney trigges on different guns and I am very satisfied with them. I also have Jard and Rifle Basix triggers and I have no complaints of any of them.

You will need to know if its the M77 or M77 Mark II version. The Mk II version started in 1991. So, by the timeframe yours may be either one. If I remember correctly, the original M77 had an adjustable trigger and a tang safety. The Mk II did away with the adjustable trigger and added a 3-position safety. I may be mistaken though.

You have more options if your gun is a MK II.
