This was a buck I took last year on a backpack hunt deep into the Trinity Alps

Nice Buck. It won't be long and A-zone will be open. I have a few picked out! This wet spring was great for horns and body weight.I got to learn how to post pics.

Great buck HH!!! How wide? 22 o 23? Hard to tell from that pic. Did you have him mounted??

He is 21 wide, no I didn,t mount him.
I have a real hangup on blacktails! I have taken lots and lots of them. I have taken Big forked horns Big Three points a couple of four by threes but NEVER a 4x4!!!!I am waiting to get him before I mount my next blacktail--(I may be wrong!) there are some impressive bucks out there that aren't 4x4s!

Reall nice looking buck, on your hike in hunts do you mainly hunt the tymber or walk into old clear cuts. I am going to be hunting the high country this year in the olympics and don't know much about it. thanks...JB

I usually go in a few days early, set up a spike camp way up high and glass like crazy.I rough it for a few days, but it usually pays off!
