Looks like a repeat of 2012 this year.....late start to a very, very active fire season. I heard WDFW was contacting successful applicants that their hunt area is closed due to fire. I also heard they will honor those tags next season....anyone else hear of that? Remember that the east side of the Cascades is a fire adapted ecosystem, and needs fire to maintain health long term. It will be bad for a year or two, but after recovery, it should be prime deer and elk habitat. Be safe out there folks and please honor campfire restrictions!
