If your reloads are most accurate longer than mag length you can still just load 1 down as the next one to come in the chamber "floats" above the actual mag box? People always talk about single shots if loaded longer than mag length but unless my rifles are different than everybody else's I would think you still have a capacity of 2. Am I missing something?

You're on the right track. One in the pipe and one down should work without actually fitting down inside your mag box.

Depending on the rifle, maybe you could get a longer Wyatt box.
