ONX support

Just plugged my chip into a different Garmin and it wants to format the card?
My other garmin didn’t that I remember?
Of course I couldn’t find a phone number for ONX
Is ok to do that or will it wipe out the chip?

I don't know of any instance where formatting does not clean the card of data.
