The damn otters here are wiping out the trout. I bet they smell like fish just like beavers.
Nevada has an otter trapping season so if one is incidentally caught the trapper isn’t committing a wildlife violation (the Truckee river is entirely located within a closed area FYI). Otters must have a CITES tag attached to legally sell or transfer the pelt. Otters are few and far between in the state so NDOW doesn’t issue CITES tags for otters, likely to discourage people from targeting them.Id imagine near truckee river is good because ia so large and in the mountains, if there was no otter here why would there be an otter season? Quit being an ass i go out hunting fishing and trapping everyday i doubt you're as active as me when it comes to the outdoors and i have several topographic maps
