Overton Wildlife Mangement Area Hunt?

I drew a tag for the first season's turkey hunt and wanted to know if anyone had hunted it in the past few years and if they hunted on the WMA or on private property. Does anyone know of private property that is allows hunting? Any info will be appreciated. Thanks Kerry

There are turkeys everywhere in Overton but they are mostly all on private property in residential areas. You will find a lot standing around next to the road on cooper street but you really can't hunt there.

The best place to go is the WMA. You will find them roosting in the tall cottonwoods during the night and coming down into the fields during the day. Once the hunt starts and people start shooting the birds wise up real fast and it's hard to find any out on the WMA anymore. It seems like they are all camping out on peoples front lawns near the WMA.
