This is the second best wildlife camera ever made for video. I've moved up to the GH4 that does 4k video now, but if you want to capture one images like this, it's definitively right at the top of the list.

Let me know if you're interested in mine. It is available in the slc area.

Cheers,
Pete

Pete, this is seriously some AWESOME VIDEO. Shows a lot of aspects of what the camera is capable off. Please tell me more about your camera. Great stuff man.

Thanks YELLUM

To make a long story short ...er longer :)

In 2011 Canon and Panasonic came out with the T3i and the GH2. These two cams are revolutionary for capturing wildlife video. It's a rather complicated process, but basically they take the center 1920x1080 pixels off the sensor and use only those for the full HD video. This in effect multiplies what ever lens you put on the camera by 4.8x In my case I have my dads old Nikkor 600mm that has now become a 2880mm equivalent lens on these cams. There is no such thing ever made for a video camera or dslr before these.

Now in 2013, Panasonic came out with a cost effective version of the GH2 called the G6 here. It now has this function which they call Extended Tele Crop (ETC). It does this full 1920x1080 HD video now at 60 fps progressive. It is effectively taking 60 - 2 megapixel images per second. This cam has every feature you could possibly want. The list is so long I simply can't explain it all here.

In any case, if you put any vintage 300mm up to 600mm manual focus lens on it via and adaptor, you can film critters in a quality unavailable at any price, in any other way. Yeah, it's much more complicated than digiscoping, quite a bit more expensive and way heavier, but the quality is unsurpassed anywhere at any price.

Here's a couple hunting video's I put together for friends I got to hunt with some last year. Needless to say they are pretty outrageous compared to anything we could have done before even three years ago.

Again needless to say it's been a wild few years for filming and playing in the mtns.

Cheers,
Pete

Man that's some great stuff Pete. Great to watch over and over. And I know how much editing time goes into that. Appreciate the info, and the chance to see that footage. Thanks.

Okay, how much do you want for it?

I am impressed. I live in Pleasant Grove....
