Paper tags

Just got my first tag (Dutton spring bear) printed on normal paper. It’s printed crooked so the Jan-Dec tabs are offset into the perforated line. Is this a cost-saving method? Maybe now I can just make a few copies in case it’s lost or destroyed by a single raindrop? Might come in handy if I end up eating tag soup and need extra wiping paper?
