Permit surrender question

If I surrender my limited entry elk permit more then 30 days before the hunt starts I get my $1,000 NR tag fee back, minus a $25 fee correct?

I would NOT be surrendering for military deployment, illness, injury or death.

If yes all I submit is the Surrender statement/form right?

If you return a tag due to injury will you get a point for 2022 or are you still loosing a point?

Like middlefork says, surrendering a tag in Utah now sets you back a year in the point system because you don't get a point for the year you surrender your point. That is a tough pill to swallow if you are on the edge of drawing.

As it should be. Especially since you are giving the next person in line very limited time to plan for and execute a plan for the tag that likely took them many years to draw as well.

This thread might help ya??

Thanks guys, good idea about an email. I called them and recorded the convo. I will email to. The way it is worded is not as clear as it could be. I HATE loosing a point this year, in Utah one point set you back about 5 years. If the opening date was even 4 days later I would go. Sheep opens 10/1, elk 10/8. They are not terribly far apart. Thanks Robb I did read all that jsut trying to get more details from actual guys with experience.
