None of the above.... Spent my whole life with the Government stealing my hard earned money. I will take anything they give back with a smile on my face.

This is a great way for our country to deal out some tough love..This whole situation is a good lesson in "start planning ahead". Nobody should be getting a check........

How is that different from question 4? Not calling you out, just don't quite understand the differentiation you observe.

Haven’t really looked at the details very closely, I think we’ll get something, though not the full amount. Whatever we get will go to a local charity.

Can I take my check and donate to the Trump 2020 campaign

TRUMP 2020
Of course, he brought all those coal jobs back to Wyoming like promised, didn’t get any gun restrictions in place (bump stocks).. yep do it hahahahaha haha

There are a ton of different ways this money is going to be given out. The $1200 check is just a part of it. Only ones not getting it is those who owe child support.

Believe it or not we are all going to receive some of this money in so many different ways, and you can’t turn it down even if you want to.

Example; I sure will not be turning down the rent that my renters are sure to pay with this money.

If you have paid your taxes all your life you need to understand that is your money, do not feel bad about getting some back when you can.

I always kind of laugh when people get all happy when they get a tax return check,, instead of being pissed that some body held and used “their” money for a year with out paying them any interest.

Not sure this means what you wanted it to...
I was hoping to catch the opinions of some shy people who might not participate when your vote is visible.

As for the comments, I also made it so you can change your vote if someone convinces you so I like to see the impassioned responses. Some guys will insist on telling you their opinion whether they vote or not. For example, we know some people haven't voted yet because we have zero check burners.

I love those posts with 100 replies, and a poll on the same question is crickets. It's almost like some guys just come here to argue?

LMAO You must feel so WOKE
What does that even mean?
Feel the need to poke fun because I’m going to pass whatever they send me on to someone who needs it? My wife can work from home and has zero risk of job loss. I’m in healthcare and working a ton of overtime. We are in fine shape financially, and many around us are struggling.

Its funny, I’m fiscally responsible moderate independent who is constantly called a bent list liberal on this forum, and I’m getting jabs for NOT taking my share of the socialism and spending it? Its amazing how thoroughly the “conservatives“ on this board have changed their minds on deficits and socialism. I would have expected unanimous “tear up the check” votes. Good little sheep.

Does the US Government Have This Money Stock Piled Somewhere?

They Should!

But they Don't!

They Tell You not to Spend Money you don't Have!

But They Don't Listen to what they F'N Preach!

I'll save it to help others that need it in case they do. My son-in-law isn't working right now( he's a realtor). Not selling many houses right now. Other family could also be affected..

Other than I went to public school (I blame autofill), what jumps out to me is how many people here are pretty well off. :)

Don't need it right now, as my job is still considered "essential", but economically speaking, I think it's going to get much worse in the coming months. Even after we are "allowed" to get back to normal, people are going to be behind on everything, and not spending like normal. So, I'll put mine is savings, where it will eventually be needed.

Stimulus money is only the tip of the iceberg. It might cover some things for a month.

So when the death toll hits 200,000 like the WH response team is predicting, the stimulus spending will not matter.

I can only imagine the shenanigans that DC dems will pull when they think they want taxpayers money back that was never theirs in the first place.

For decades our government outsourced our manufacturing jobs to China, and now they've made it illegal to work... and all we get is a $1200 check, and a deadly virus that's killing off our families and friends. How bout this govt., media & globalists - phuk you!

Don't forget. They just approved 20,000 work visas yesterday. Meaning, while 6 million Americans are unemployed, we imported 20,000 folks to take their jobs.

And if you think that's all farm labor, call your local IT company, you hearing Texas drawl? I doubt it, unless there is a Texas, India.

So either there is a high concentration of people on this site that make a lot of money (only 15% of tax payers don't qualify), or there are a bunch of dead beat dads. I'm guessing more of the later. :D

Its not hard to budget. Not trying to preach but most people are not smart with money. Drives me nuts when people make 60 to 80 grand a year and are broke. I look at their siuation and they spend 20 dollars a day at the gas station. Eat out non stop. $70,000 truck, several toys which means trailers and more insurance cost.

Its simple. We do the envelope system. Every payday to put money into envelopes. Money goes into envelopes labeled vaction, tires, vehicle maintenance, my journeyman lic,my wifes master lic, certain amount to savings, money to kids savings account and on and on and on.

For those that spend money at gas stations every day i just found what i like and buy it in bulk from Costco or amazon. I dont impulse buy. I dont tell myself i just got to have it. I save slowly for it such as guns etc.... we eat out once a week. Usaully a family breakfast every sunday. With everything shut down we order take out somewhere else. Definitely not nasty McDonalds and im just hungry 10 min later...

One should have 6 months of house payments saved up for just incase and for all those other big payments.

This saving program doesnt happen overnight. It takes a few years. If you add extra to your envelopes one can go out and buy those toys.

Also i put everything on a credit card. To get my cash back or points or whatever you want. My credit card gets paid off everymonth from those envelopes..

I do little things like buy one box of ammo a week. One week its 30-06 the next .300 mag. Got to the point im stocked up and such as now we are back to its hard finding ammo. . Also i dont need the $200 sitka hoodie for hunting. A walmart special works the same to break my pattern up while hunting.. 12 percent of my check goes to retirement . Works puts in 11 percent. Im lucky o have health insurance that work pays..

So when i get a stimulus check it will go into my resident wy sheep hunt since i may draw this year or the next. I wont have spend a dime . It will be saved..

I dont live poor but i live smart and i eventually get what i want. Im 33 years old and do better than people in their 50's. Its all due cause they impulse buy, they have 7 4 wheelers, 50 grand camper, but they also pay a tiny amount a month on loans that take forever to pay. So i dont feel bad for those people.

Dont get me wrong people do have real struggles. I was one of them. I learned the hard way. I paid for it. I learned from my mistakes. I dont need Dave Ramsey on how do it. I also learned from my parents and grandparents. I want to retire at age 60 or 62. I want to act like social security wont exist. Not a dependable retirement source with crazy politicians using those funds. I want to retire and do several things like hunt hunt hunt . Thats if cornavirus dont take me out

Sorry for the rant but maybe several people here have learned to live in their means

40% who won't be getting one is well outside the normal distribution of income levels in this country. And your check will be based on your income and certain other characteristics your government would like to encourage or discourage. Oh, and whether you filed a tax return.

Like I said, plenty of well off folks messing around on the internet and this website particularly. Good for us. (y)

It’s amazing how excited folks are getting for this $1200 check. Do people not realize that they are just loaning you your money until you file your 2020 taxes? All this $1200 costs is the interest on $1200 for a year.

Are you implying that they will change the "tax tables" to recoup the $1200? I don't see that happening for anyone but the highest earners.

I think if there's anything people here are consistent about is that its a bummer that it has come to this.

It is an advance on a 2020 refundable credit. I wasn’t so much referring to excitement here, though there are a few. More people I interact with in everyday life. The government will be far more effective in getting paid back by the individual than it will from Other places this stimulus is going.

And I Ask once again?

Of anybody You Know anywhere?

Who does NOT Have this Money Stock-Piled to be Handed Out?

Most People are Relying on this Check!

(((Well it is almost Election time!)))

So they can go out & Buy a Bunch of Ssshhiittt that they don't need!

As in Small Luxuries such as New Phones & other Misc BullSsshhiitt!

NVB said I Ain't Gettin a Check!

He's Probably Right!

And Further More I Don't F'N want one from somebody that can't afford to send me one!

Actually I might be wrong about that. I’ve now seen it described differently. I’ll have to dig into the bill itself and clarify.

I'm pretty sure my income is too high to get a check.

I think people may be thinking of this in the wrong way. The government has the right to take your house to build an expressway through your property, but they can't take it without compensating you for doing so. The government is taking away the right of businesses to operate in this coronavirus crisis, and that is costing many people a lot of money. This may not be articulated by congress, but there is an argument to be made that the government does in fact owe you some compensation for interfering and taking value away from you and your employer. On that grounds, it does not seem lacking in self-reliance to accept such checks. No doubt it is a poor recompense for income most people have lost.

And only a "one hit wonder". Most of these checks will be spent in one month's time. What about May, June? The prediction now is 200,000 some odd casualties in the US alone by the end of April, which according to some, this thing is just getting started.

How many of those will be mid-career "working age" adults that can no longer provide for their households or provide the needed product required by society? How many businesses and industries will literally be destroyed leaving the gov't all but penny-less.

People need to quit treating this thing like all the other pestilence cases in the past, leap forward and think outside the box...

Ok, lets see how we did. Looks like we have a lot more wealthy people here than Utah in general. Must be the Californians and Texans. ;)

How do Utahns plan to spend their coronavirus stimulus checks? New poll has answers - Deseret News

Before Covid-19, my wife & I have been extremely blessed with good paying jobs & we were smart with our money. Our house & vehicles were paid off so our only monthly expenses are minimal. My wife lost both of her jobs as “non-essential”, but we are still good because we have no debt.
I can’t imagine how scared so many Americans are feeling right now with job loss, minimal to no income. The stimulus check that most people receive will do little other then get them through to the next month. Then what. It’s sad & scary at the same time. My wife & I are not rich at all, but we we do what we can with our savings & stimulus check to help friends & family the best we can. God Bless everyone!!!

I guess I am "lucky" to have grown up without alot of money so because of that and getting a good job right out of high school I have tried to not carry much debt at all. It is hard for me to understand how people live without a safety net. I hope this clears up so we all can get back to normal. The old normal not this "new' normal bull sh@t the media is trying to push down our throats.
