promontory antelope, is there such a thing???

Have been scouting for antelope in the promontory unit, first, yes I didnt read the fine print, it is almost all private land. I think I could deal with that, but I haven't seen one goat. Not freaking one. Thinking about turning the tag back in unless someone has some ideas.

rifle. I thought it would be fun for the 5yr.old and me to spend the summer scouting, its about 45 min. from home. But after 2 days of not seeing anything he isn't real sure that antelope hunting is a good deal. I guess I shouldn't have been but I was shocked that there are 4 CWMUs in this unit, and its pretty small. Not against land owners, but I also haven't seen one buck deer, so hunting them for 4 months doesn't seem like a great idea either.

Not sure how far north this unit is, but if you get off the snowville exit and head south there are a few farms out that way that always have goats. Might be worth checkin into.

I drew a CWMU antelope tag a few years ago up there and it sucked arse. I can't imagine how crappy a regular tag could be. I hope you can locate some shooters on public land soon!
