Can you dry fire a crossbow?

I would not , it could lead to serious damage to the bow or personal damage to whoever dry fired it . get a junk arrow and fire into the ground or target , Belter safe than sorry ?

I have a Titan extreme Ten point and it shoots great , killed lots of critters with it

Even though it’s a crossgun, it should not be dry fired. You’ll want a bolt in.

I bought a couple of dummy bolts to "unload" my xbow. It has some big rubber sliding thing on it. Just shoot it into the ground to unload, slide the rubber dealy back, and use it again next time.

Just google Crossbow decocking bolt, or crossbow release bolt.
