Resident / Nonresident change UT

I drew a ML elk tag last year as a resident in UT. I understand that I have a waiting period. My question is if I move out of state and become a non-resident can I put in as a non resident with out waiting for 5 years? Can I put in right away as a non resident?

My logic being that Im not putting on for resident points but now Im putting in for non resident.

It is my understanding that a waiting period is a waiting period, whether you are a resident or NR....Just like if you move out of state your points go with you into the NR pool. That is just my understanding from other guys who have moved out of state.

You still have to wait,i did the same thing moving to Nev.while i am on the waiting period for elk nice thought though
