Some of the discount ribeyes that ODW and I were buying as roasts, and cutting ourselves. Had a reason to celebrate. The old 1970 Toyota Land Cruiser that I got is coming together. Got it to fire and run yesterday; Actually did a road check, transfer case operation, shifting, etc today. I'm in Heaven right now!!! Decided the girls needed steak, corn on the cob, and drinks!!!

Have you posted pics anywhere of the 70 LC? I have been looking for a good FJ40 here in Texas for a while. My wife has been on the Land Cruiser kick the last 6-7 years. She grabbed a 2021 before they quit making them. Crazy how much they are going for now.

This was a Leadore Idaho ranch truck. Had a ton of ugly all over it, and hadn't run in years!. Pressure wash, scrape-sand-wire brush top to bottom, and then prime and paint everything, and running. It has been a busy two weeks!!!! :)

Back in 1974 a friend and I were part time commercial fishermen dip netting surf fish out of the ocean. He had one of those for running up and down the beach. I don't know what happened to it but I'm sure the salt water took its toll. Cool dependable rigs that would go anywhere.

Blank, here's my 1977 FJ 40. Rust free completely stock just over 50,000 miles. It's almost to nice to take out into the brush. I was offered $20000.00 for it. I told my 88 year old Mother that and she said "that's when two fools met, the one that offered it and the one that didn't take it"

BH55: Don't know if you follow "BringATrailer" or not. On BAT, clean restored FJ40's are averaging $$44K!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful. Two more legs to our trip, and home. Looking forward to home cooked meals again!!!

I did a 5 day dry aged prime rib eye in my inherited 75 year old cast iron over the open fire this weekend. Hard fishing and a few too many beers…. Forgot the pictures. One of the best steaks of my life
