The Colorado River is closed to fishing from Kremmling to Rifle on a volunteer basis due to very low water levels, This is only mid July ...the western Slope is gonna suffer agin this year. Afraid the big fires are going to be a problem again.

Closed my stretch of Tomichi....Low and Warm! Need to temp it.
Hay crop is excellent turned on April 2nd...These are the years our ditches are full of fish..need to turn off real slow so they go back, then take a net and bucket and manually haul them back when it's off off...wish my neighbor's did the same.

It sure wouldn't hurt to slow the fishing down in my part of the state. These days more often than not the Roaring Fork and the Colorado looks like a dang drift boat parade.

60% of Colorado River mainstem water goes to the front range. The front range is at or above average on moisture and water storage yet they continue to divert from the Colorado River Basin fully aware of the water shortages and our water crisis? Front-range folks, please appreciate the green grass, car washes, thousands of convenient restaurants, plethora recreation venues, fountains, and glass of water while our west slope economies and ag communities progressively diminish and struggle, fill the water tap, and do laundry. The pain is very real in western Colorado while our supply goes to fill the I-25 front range corridor's endless thrust and yet need to flow water down river to Powell to keep California happy.
