Show me your side arm holster

How do you pack your sidearm while hunting. My side holster interferes with the waist strap on my backpack so I often leave it behind where it is useless. I will be helping a friend this year on a moose hunt and the unit is on the fringe of grizzly territory. I want to carry ready to fire. What do you recommend?

I'm interested in this too. Some have said using a leg rig. I've also seen low ride holsters which may fit below your waist strap on your pack. I think Safariland makes some, but found this pic on Walmart.com of all places. The brand is Orpaz. I have no idea if they are any good, but the style is what I'm looking for too.

That style you have pictured is for semi auto pistols. Really to small of a caliber for grizzly country. You will probably want a revolver in 44 mag or bigger and the chest style holster is your best option.

I carry an Eberlestock bino chest pack that I converted to a low sitting side holster. sits below my packs waist band, right next to my hand. i carry a full size .40 cal with 200 gr. hotloads alrernating FMJ and HP. bear spray either clipped to the left or in my left pants cargo pocket. this works for me because i can drop my pack and stay armed

Last season I took my 3 slot side holster and used zip ties to secure it to the front of the waist strap on my back pack. It kept my gun where I would naturally reach for it and kept my backpack comfortable to wear for days on end.

Nice try, Bessie. Gotta admit, I like your holster. I carry mine in an Uncle Mike's vertical holster.
