Sig Blaser Rifles

Has anyone had any experience with the Sig Blaser rifles? A friend of mine called today and said that he found one in a .300 win mag caliber for 1,400 and was wondering if it was a good deal. I couldn't tell him one way or the other so I thought I would make this post.

I had one and they are fine rifles. Is the one your friend is looking at the R93 or 84 model? Is it the wooden stocked version, or the synthetic? The price of $1400 is about average for the R93 in the plastic stock. The rifle only uses Blaser scope rings and bases- about $225 for those.

thanks for the response. I think he went into this place to order another rifle and they tried to sell him this one since he was there. Sounds like a good gun but I think I'll tell him to go ahead and order what he wanted. He may be happier in the long run.
