does anybody know the south sloap of the uintas for elk? like where they winter? i have a late season cow tag for that area and would like some advise on where they winter and where the best place to try. thanks for any help!

if you have the diamond mountain tag, it is a cool hunt, we have drawn it for years, except for this year. Like many hunts it depends on the snow. If not much snow, go around the pot holes area, that is north of the diamond mountain road off of 191. If there is snow you can not get in there and go over by the diamond mountain rim. Watch off the rim with a scope and glass them up. You then have to get down to them, which can be difficult. Watch out for the idiots who try to shoot them off the rim. Find them early and get on them fast, lots of people there. Good luck!
