Spotting scope

I have had an old leopold beater spotter for a long time. It’s hung out windows all over, been to the mtns, shooting ranges etc. The lense caps are long gone, so it wears can coozies.

It goes on a lot more trips than that big heavy Austrian monstrosity in the safe.

I have a small aluminum tripod whose legs nest inside each other. Together with the spotter, barely takes up more room in the pack than a flashlight.

I've had the old Leopold gold ring for 30 years- it was sub 1000 back then. It's OK, but once I got Swaro 15 binocs the spot scope has done nothing but gather dust...

I would look for a good used spotter. Nothing in the under $1000 range new is going to be worth much.
