A little clip of my antelope hunt. Lets just say Pete Jr outshot me quite handily on this hunt and I'm just thankful I was able to see my buck fall in 16 seconds and about 40 yards from where I shot him!

Nice shot! I saw both videos and they both looked like great bucks.

My son just turned 12 and I've thought an antelope hunt would be a good way to get him started. We are from Utah....can you suggest a good unit?

Antelope are like rabbits in southwest Wyoming. When I was fueling up in Evanston one evening on the way up to hunt with Petie, there was a 70" buck crossing the road coming toward the gas station on the east side of town only 150 yards away!

Throw a dart at the map, find the closest water hole and set up a blind there. You'll see dozens of bucks every day. If you go driving to spot and stalk you'll see hundreds of bucks a day.

All the units down that way take 3-5 points. The 5 pointers aren't necessarily better for the archery hunt though. For the youth their odds are way better and you can also put in for doe permits as a second choice for them.

Make sure you get on Wyoming Game and Fish website and put in for you points this year. You have until Sunday still I think.

Cheers,
Pete
