This buck was killed in a county adjacent to the county I live in. State record Pope and Young typical, 191 2/8. They said it ranks 25th all time P&Y typical.
It came from a county that is archery only, there are four southern counties that are archery only, they have been archery only forever, more than 50 years. When these counties were closed to deer hunting in the early 20th century they have never been reopened to firearms hunting.
They said it was a relatively young buck, 3 1/2 or 4 1/2. It has what it takes to score high, tine length and symmetry.

I corrected the age, they said 3 1/2 or 4 1/2.
