String Silencer Question

I just recently got a recurve and it came with the yarn type material string silencer. Every time I unstring my bow the tension is let off of the string and the things come unraveled. I finally took them off. Does anyone have any suggestions on a type of string silencer that works well on a recurve? I have seen some in magazines made of beaver fur that I really like but I think I would have the same problem.

I don,t know about recurves but the type that look like a disk work well also the silecers which resemble a bass lure with a skirt are well designed.

I've used the beaverfur silencers on my longbows and recurves and they seem to work okay. Most tradtitonalist like them because they seem to be more....uh traditional.

However, I replaced some on my Brackenbury Recurve with the simple rubber cat whiskers and they work the best for me. They last forever, and silence the bow more in my opinion. They also don't seem to hold water as much as the yarn and fur. Hope it helps and good luck.
