This is from a few years back. Here’s a 3 minute window into me, guiding, and Wasatch elk hunting in general. I sat and watched this bull in this view for 45 minutes straight never leaving the scope. Most confounding, waffle back and forth hunt I’ve ever had.
The hunter had a conservation permit, is an accomplished elk hunter, and didn’t need to kill a bull. He loves being successful, elk meat, and the thrill of hunting in general, so a good mature bull over 350” is always the goal.
Listen in, check out my view, and decide? Does this bull meet that standard? Did I make a mistake in what I thought of the bull?
Here’s the shot we ended up making. Don’t care for Berger Bullets in general but when this particular fella is throwing them down range, stuff dies.
