Any reports of EHD in your neck of the woods? I have heard of some reports of it in southern Iowa on FB. I drew an archery tag again this year so I'm really hoping we can avoid the EHD plague.

Haven't heard anything yet but it wouldn't surprise me as dry as it's been. That crap wiped out a large number of big bucks several years ago and I don't think the deer herd has fully recovered yet.

Started sitting tues. night after getting back from Colorado. Had this deer at 30 yards thurs. morning.

waiting for 1 of these.

I'm hoping this one doesn't come by me so I don't have to make a decision.

Heck, I'll probably end up shooting something completely different.

Haven't seen either one of those two bucks I had pictures of so I decided to try for this one. He's not quite the deer those other two are but he'll do.

Just started hunting him last night, hopefully in a few days I'll have a picture of him. The dates are wrong on the pics because I didn't set the date.

BTW, as a res, you can get two tags, correct?

Yes, as a res. you get 1 gun & 1 bow. I also, as a landowner, get a landowner tag for either season. If I use my landowner tag for shotgun season I can hunt both first and second season.

I thought Iowa res's got 2, but the LO tag gives you 3. WOW! NR's like me can only get one every 3-4 years - for Zone 4/5 that is.
