Well Fred has now come and gone and the big 3 on their way. I predict Huckabee will deliver the best speech, appear the most down to earth, and presidential.

I also predict that Palin will not deliver kudos to Ferraro, Clinton, or glass ceilings tonight. I saw McCain wince at her selection acceptance speech when she mentioned it.

This is going to be better than last night! Get in before it starts, predictions are not critiques.

Go Huckabee, who's your momma now b@*ch? Mike's gonna bring it babe!

Meg Whitman good, solid, and concise speech. She could very well have a political future in the GOP. At times I thought she was talking more about the McCain of 99, then 2008.

Carly Fiorina...I know John McCain, blah, blah, they applaud to help her struggling and awkward performance. By the way she knows John McCain, did I mention that. Why is transparency all of the sudden such an important issue? What are the Republicans trying to say about the last 8 years, without actually saying it? Let's hope it gets better than Carli, Carly, Karlee, whatever!

Mitt: Not a lot of applause oddly enough. "Stop promisquity and pornography in schools". I'm sure Palin will agree, Bush has brought promisquity and pornography to schools and it must change.

The audience seemed a little bewildered at first, not quite sure where Mitt is going with all this. How weak was that parting shot at Al Gore? Mitt's got a lot complaints when his party has been in power for 6 of 8 years.

I was wrong about Huckabee, he was weak, and only seemed to strike a chord with the small 80% of the religious right that are attending tonight. Huckabee did score higher on the applause meter than Mitt did.

Giuliani comes from no where to wake up the crowd with a good speech, defintely the winner in the mens division.

Palin hits it out of the park with a great speech and a great performance. She hit every mark with pinpoint accuracy, an easy-to-follow speaking style she emphasized her speech on McCain, firing up the crowd, silencing her critics, and endearing herself to the party.

Palin was a definite hit!

Are the republicans trying to lose or what? I haven't been able to watch much of it but it's like a B grade sit com.

FTW, thanks for some honesty, there might be hope for you after all. I do not have to point out that your prior predictions were as wrong as they usually are, but you had enought brass ones to come back and admit it. Something that Dude will never understand or admit too.

FtW, that was an honest review you did. It showed your willing to listen and observe rather than being closed minded. +1 for you.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-04-08 AT 00:37AM (MST)[p]Who would of thought it was Rudy that fires up the troops? I was about to get sick at the constant panning of Meridith. I swore if Meridith called during Rudy's speech I was going to shut off the T.V.

What in the hell is up with Mitt? Does he even own another suit and tie? Is that how come he's so rich, by not owning more than 1 suit and 1 tie? Mitt sure tries hard to be a regular fellow. He insists that people treat him like he is only worth 10-20 million dollars.

I figured the Arena would be filled Pro-Lifers giving Huck the pulpit and ensuring a church-like victory on the applause meter.

Oh well I was half-right and RELH is half-wrong.

"I also predict that Palin will not deliver kudos to Ferraro, Clinton, or glass ceilings tonight. I saw McCain wince at her selection acceptance speech when she mentioned it."

I'll take .500

She delivered a well-crafted speech and has better speaking skills than McCain. Outside of the delivery, the contents of the speech were lacking in vision, lacking in agenda, evasive about her own beliefs, and lacking in detail.

HunterHarry posted cnn's jump to a complete transcript of her speech. It's a little easier to tear it apart when you can read the context completely.

I do believe her address was delivered perfectly and I along with the crowd at the convention were impressed. Mind you that those people at the convention are not the target vote of Palin's appointment.

Palin proved she can play with big boyz at the podium, adept at using a teleprompter, and delivering a crucial speech. Karrlee Fiorina on the other was a complete and utter disaster.
