Today's Salmon Trip

Left the house at dark:30 this morning with the kid & and targeted some late season springers.
We haven't fished very much yet this year due to unfortunate priorities.
Anyway, the kid really schooled me today.
First he landed this little beauty...

Then about 20 minutes later he hooked up on a darker colored hen...

Things slowed down at that spot so we left and tried another hole.
Thomas snags up his lucky spinner and loses it, so I give him mine that was the same color.
He slimes it up, casts it out, cranks about twice and BAM!
This beautiful chrome buck slams it!
Red Hot & Chrome Brite!

All were released...

Maybe next time for Dad.

You Son is obviouly a terrific fisherman.
Looking at those photos makes me want to grab my rods, load up the suburban and head West out of Redding.

Nice fish Sacramento or American? I went out sunday on the Kenai, we caught one nice fish, its a little early yet but they went to bait today so the fishing should be getting better.
