Torch runs on water?

This torch runs on water by seperating out hydrogen from the water. It says is produces heat up to 5000 deg. Ferenheit.

Could this same process be used to run your car. Just pour water in and the electrolosis makes hydrogen as you need it so you don't have to store hydrogen in your car. Why hasn't this been all over the news?

The electrolosis takes more energy than you get back by burning the hydrogen and the oxygen... so no.

I thought there must have been something like that going on or this would have been big news. Still, the torch is pretty cool stuff.

I saw a news clip from a station in FL with the man who invented the torch. According to the news clip he has a car that does ruin on water and is working with the military to develop a tank that runs on water. I don't have the clip anymore. Not sure if it wasa hoax but I would think it would be bigger news that one station in FL.
